Music
Music at Leverstock Green
Music has a strong tradition at our school. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to develop their interest in music and to nurture their talents. From their first days in Nursery, children learn to sing simple songs and exploring simple percussion instruments. By the time they leave Year 6, they are able to perform to an audience with confidence. All pupils learn to play the ukulele in Year 5. There is a KS1 and KS2 choir which is open to all. We have a dedicated creative studio for curriculum lessons.
We partner with Herts Music Service to offer a wide range of instrumental lessons. We have a separate practice room for individual and small group tuition.
Additional opportunities include the Hertfordshire Gala, held at the Royal Albert Hall, and Young Voices at the O2 Arena. We hold an annual soiree evening for parents, when children are invited to showcase their musical ability.
