History
Here at Leverstock Green CE Primary School, we aim to deliver a high-quality history curriculum which should inspire children’s curiosity about their own past, Britain’s past and that of the wider world. We want pupils to gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of the History of Britain and how it has influenced and been influenced by the world; of significant aspects and events of the History of the wider world through ancient civilisations and empires; changes in living memory and beyond, the lives of significant individuals of the past and the importance of local History. We want to help children to gain a sense of chronology and equip them to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgement. Our goal is to promote a lifelong enjoyment and love of history, not just through experiences in the classroom, but also by handling artefacts, educational visits and visitors in school.
