At Leverstock Green CE Primary School, our Mathematics curriculum is designed with the intent of being a rich, balanced and progressive curriculum which is accessible for all children, maximising every child’s development. Using the progression from an existing Hertfordshire based syllabus, children build on their mathematic skills and knowledge year by year, ensuring that solid foundations are in place to ensure they can not only use, but apply what they know. Lessons are creative and engaging, with a core focus on developing arithmetic and reasoning skills. We want children to develop mathematical fluency and make connections across ideas and other subjects. We want children to have a wide range of experiences, deepening their knowledge through exciting and interesting lessons. Our aim is for children to progress and grow to be inquisitive and independent learners and develop a deeper understanding of Mathematics.
