We will only close the school when absolutely necessary; for example, if the heating fails or if we have insufficient staff to ensure the children's safety.

We will always give parents as much notice as we possibly can. We will:

• Broadcast a message on BBC Three Counties Radio (103.8FM/95.5FM or 630MW/1161MW) 
• Notify Hertfordshire County Council, who will put a message on the Herts Direct website
• Send out text alerts via the Everbridge app
• Send a text message to all parents on our mailing list
• Put a message on our website home page

You can help us by:

• Making sure your contact details are kept up-to-date
• Checking messages before phoning the school office
• Making sure we can contact you during the day in case we need to close early
