Nursery

Welcome to Nursery's class page

Our Mystical Creature topic has come to an end, and this week we have been learning all about different types of Dragons as part of our Lunar New Year celebration.

We have had great fun role playing with chopsticks, making dragons, watching videos of 'dragon dancing' and we finished off the week with a re-enactment of the story of the 'Nian', where we banged drums and waved our red and yellow streamers and clothes to chase off the monster!

We also learnt a bit about lent and ate some pancakes, and had a try at doing kisses in some valentines cards linked to our phonics. It really has been a busy end to a very full topic.

Next week is half term but we look forward to seeing you on Monday 23rd February where we will begin our new topic - 'Pirates'.

Home Learning week 6

Next week is half term and we hope you have some lovely activities planned with family and friends. Instead of setting a homework we would like you to follow the children's interests - if you do anything to celebrate Lunar New Year, pancake day or valentines, then please let us know by emailing in to admin@leverstockgreen.herts.sch.uk. Remember you can email in pictures of anything else you feel your child is proud of or wants to show in class. We love seeing what they get up to in their own time!

Important Information

As the weather is changeable at the moment please make sure your child has a warm coat, suitable shoes (preferably a pair of welly boots in school as well), a jumper and some spare clothes. You may also wish to send them in with a hat and some gloves, but please, as always, make sure everything is labelled!

If your child is staying for lunch, try to ensure they have a healthy, balanced lunch box. Below are some ideas.

Playdough Recipe

If you fancy getting your hands dirty then why not try our no-cook playdough recipe. The children love helping to make our playdough in class. You could even make your recipe more exciting by adding some scents or even some glitter!
