Curriculum Overview
Please ensure your child has a water bottle they can access during the day (learning is thirsty work!)
PE Days
Wednesdays & Fridays.
Home Learning
During the Autumn term, home learning is kept to a minimum.
Please do continue to read with your child x5 a week, re-reading their phonics books x3 before they are changed. Please record this in your child's reading record and return to school.
From October Half Term, children will be given a 'reading for pleasure' book that they can take home each week. This will often be a more 'challenging' read intended for enjoying with an adult.
Spelling Test
Children will complete an informal spelling test every Monday, with new words provided for practice to go home that afternoon. The test will be composed of five or ten Common Exception/Tricky words or High Frequency words.
The test will look like this:
- The word is read.
- The word is put into a sentence.
- The word is read again.
- The children write the word.
