Class 5

The last week of January has been another busy one, and it's hard to believe there are only two more weeks until half term.

Please find the latest home learning below. I continue to encourage those who are not regularly managing to complete this, to come and join me in our lovely home learning club on Monday lunchtimes. Numbers are steadily going up, but there is always room for more. It's lovely to see children joining us just to enjoy a good read, too.

For those accessing the stretch work, this week's pages are as follows:

Maths: page 30

Comprehension: page 2

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our forthcoming parents' evenings.

All the best,

Miss Newman

Mrs. Eder

Miss Walters

Home Learning to be handed in on Tuesday 3rd February

Due to a bit of a mix-up last week, we have extended the MyMaths task, ‘Comparing mixed and improper fractions – bar model’ into this week. It is a really valuable activity to support the children’s work on fractions so we’d really like to see everyone try it.

It is not our intention for home learning to cause unnecessary anxiety in the household, therefore if there any concerns, please ensure you speak to the teacher in advance of the Tuesday deadline to ensure we can put the necessary support in place.

Weekly expectations

Times tables

Reading

Please ensure your children practises their times tables daily on TTRS. This only needs to be for 5/ 10 minutes per day but daily practice is proven to lead to greater fluency.

Please ensure your child has read a minimum of 5 times and logged it into their reading record. Reading is the key to them accessing the full curriculum and they will struggle with further learning without the necessary practice.

Spellings- these will be tested on Thursdays. Please ensure they have been practised prior to this.
