Children will write a recount of their trip to Manor Adventure and orally rehearse for the Manor Adventure assembly.

They will use drama as an aid to develop an understanding of a variety of genres.

They will be rehearsing the summer production “Pirates of the Curry Bean” and writing pieces for the Leavers Service at the end of term.

 

Children will complete a number of budgeting activities. They will practise a variety of maths skills to prepare them for secondary school.

 

 

Children will discuss and choose what they would like to investigate further.

Children will be supported in developing their skills in planning, completing and evaluating experiments.

Children will learn about Humanist views and happiness and how it is achieved. They will ask about why humanists say happiness is the goal of life.

In PSHE, we will be revising the following themes from throughout the year, with a view to going to Secondary School:

•Families and friendships

•Health and Well-being

Transition

 

Children further develop their weaving, overlapping and layering techniques. They experiment with a range of fabrics, including non-traditional fabrics.

Children will use a variety of art skills and resources to produce backdrops, props and costumes for the End of Year Six Production.

 

Pupils develop the range and quality of striking and fielding skills and their understanding of cricket. They learn how to play the different roles of bowler, wicket keeper, fielder and batter.

Children will be developing Athletics Skills in preparation for Sports Day.

Children will create rhythmic pieces for drums and percussion. They will develop knowledge and understanding of a variety of musical styles from India and demonstrate keeping a steady beat by dancing to bhangra music.

Children will also be learning songs for the summer production.

Computing

Children will use computing skills in a cross-curricular way and computing will link to other National Curriculum subjects. These will only take place once certain safety features have been installed.
