The first project we undertook in our English lessons this year was to investigate the writing skills needed to write an effective setting description. 

We looked at the various techniques used by other writers, explored how we could employ them ourselves and then wrote setting descriptions of our own. We hope you enjoy reading them on the Powerpoint below. Can you close your eyes and picture being there?
